Brookstone Emergency Services ensures that its employees are certified in the latest and greatest training courses to better understand our clients' needs and keep abreast of industry trends. Brookstone employees have recently completed the following courses:
First Aid & CPR, EMT State Certification, and County Hazmat
The First Aid & CPR, EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), and County Hazmat classes were held June 1-3, 2006, at the Clark Training Center at the Riverside County Fire Dept Training Center in Moreno Valley, CA.
Basic 32 Training
The Basic 32 training was held March 13-17, 2006, at the Pauma Valley Fire Department in Pauma Valley, CA. Basic 32 training included several components:
Fire and Weather Behavior - Topics included how inclement weather affects fires.
ICS 100 and 200 Series - This course reviewed the general structure of incident command systems.
Hose Laying Drills - This drill focused on how to properly lay hose from a parked vehicle.
Physical Endurance - The physical endurance exercise required participants to walk three miles with a 45 lb pack on their back in 40 min.
Hand-Crew Line Cutting - This exercise taught attendees to cut a fire line with hand tools.
Firing Operations - Topics included fire operations, specifically backfires and drop torches.
Tools - This component focused on the use of axes, shovels, chain saws and other basic hand tools.
