Brookstone Supports Worthy Cause for Wildland Firefighter Foundation
May, 2006 - Brookstone Emergency Services donated over $60,000 in equipment and manpower to create a fire camp for the Wildland Firefighter Foundation in May. The successful weekend benefited the families of fallen firefighters who have been killed in action, and it took place in Boise, ID. Brookstone set up a mock base camp and supplied six tents, GIS trailer, helicopter support trailer, a gray water truck, a hand wash trailer, and a potable water truck. Brookstone's Pacific Northwest Operations Manager, Gary Cardoza spearheaded the successful operation. A thank you was issued to Brookstone on behalf of the Wildland Firefighter Foundation.
Brookstone Employees Join the JDRF Spring Walk to Cure Diabetes
DREAMING OF A CURE
Brookstone employees put on their walking shoes for a great cause - to cure diabetes. The annual JDRF spring walk took place in the beautiful wine country of Temecula. Brookstone generously supported this cause with a blue sponsorship. On May 20, 2006, over 40 Brookstone employees, family and friends gathered at the Wilson Creek Winery in Temecula to walk with Team Brookstone. The walking event covered the beautiful wine country, and there was a philanthropic mood in the air.
Several Brookstone walkers were fast on their feet including Hector Aguilera (project manager), his friend Jessica Gruwell, Sandy Hart (safety and training), and her son Nathan. Meanwhile, other Team Brookstone members tackled the 5k run including Vince Zaragoza, husband of Barbara Zaragoza (project coordinator) and Merri Ann Smart's (cost accountant) husband Mike Kinsley.
As a result of the generous support of Brookstone families, friends, subcontractors, vendors, and fellow employees, Team Brookstone raised over $11,800 for the local Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Congratulations Team Brookstone!

Congratulations to Brookstone employees Jackie Divine, Chris Glade, Sandy Hart, Tammy Otto, Jonathan Pulley, Chantilly Rivera, Merri Ann Smart, Diane Vaughn, and Barb Zaragoza. They volunteered their time to the Brookstone committee. Committee members handled donations, collections, tallies and other imperative paperwork.
